Here we are with a preschool art project- completely open-ended, really rather messy, and totally captivating. I pulled out some random materials and Beckett dictated what he would brand, what my office was in the process (I was designated record-ripper), and simply how long he would stay interested in it.

Nosotros love this weird blue painters' tape. Come to recall of it, tape is an all-around slap-up art material isn't it? I just realized I posted a duct tape thought last week, and a masking record project the calendar week before. Hmm. Perchance next week nosotros'll get all arty with clear tape?

So here's how information technology all went down. Offset he applied the tape. I had a difficult time ripping pieces off fast enough for him, but finally he had had enough record and grabbed some blackness charcoal. I accept such fond memories of higher figure drawing classes every time I see blackness charcoal….

Now. If you accept kids, or work with kids, you know that they Honey to grind their art fabric as difficult as they tin into the paper, attempting to leave the about concentrated pile of whatever they are using. Charcoal gives yous this effect and so easily, and is so satisfyingly black on the paper. Beckett ground that stuff into the newspaper until he only had a little nub left, and then he went in with his hands. Sweetness.

This wasn't plenty, so he added colored pastel on top of that, smudged a bit, and alleged himself finished. He also requested that nosotros hang the finished piece on the refrigerator for Daddy to see. That'due south when you know a kid has had a good art session, right? 🙂
